Man with bulletproof vest, knives busted trying to get into Trump Tower

A 52-year-old man wearing a bulletproof vest and carrying two throwing knives was busted last night trying to get into Trump Tower. Adames Benitez, of The Bronx, said he was a US Senator and wanted to see President Trump's daughter Ivanka, who is traveling with her father and the rest of his presidential party in Europe, authorities said.

Bystander caught in NYPD assassination crossfire 'can barely sleep'

The bystander who was accidentally shot following the assassination of an NYPD cop said Thursday that he "can barely sleep" - and is "still in pain." In an exclusive interview with The Post, Asuncion Bautista said he was stepping out of his apartment building in The Bronx when he took a stray bullet to gut.

The NYPD is making its vehicles bulletproof

"We're in the process of retrofitting all of oura police carsa we started the vehicles that are on patrol right now," Police Commissioner James O'Neill said Thursday - one day after Familia was fatally shot as she sat in an NYPD mobile command center in The Bronx. The original plan called for the retrofitting of the department's more than 3,800 patrol vehicles and not the command vehicles like the one Familia was in when she was shot by cop-hating ex-con Alexander Bonds.
