Bronx Museum of the Arts announces new space downtown

The Bronx Museum of the Arts announced it will soon open an artist workspace and exhibition venue located at 80 White Street in Lower Manhattan, furthering the museum's mission to support underrepresented artists in New York. Designed to support AIM, the museum's career development program for emerging New York City artists, the space will serve as a community resource hub featuring private workspaces, exhibition facilities, meeting rooms, and career management resources for the creative and professional development of AIM alumni.

White teacher sues saying SHE is a victim of racism after being fired for making black students play slaves in class exercise at Bronx school A white middle school teacher is suing New York City after she was fired for forcing her black students to pretend to be slaves during a history class, claiming she is the victim of 'reverse racism'. Patricia Cummings allegedly told three students at a predominantly black and Hispanic school in The Bronx to lie down to illustrate conditions on a slave ship, after which she stepped on their backs to show 'what it's like to be a slave'.

Maine police allegedly find $1,900 in man's underwear, charge him with drug trafficking

A New York man was arrested in Kennebunk Wednesday night and charged with selling cocaine and heroin in Biddeford, Saco and Kennebunk. Maine State Police spokesman Stephen McCausland said 31-year-old Reginald Lewis, from The Bronx, has been under investigation since this summer.
